I love my daughter and now my son Lucas too. I know they will be married forever.
Why? They love and respect each other.
In the Bible, it is written about love 1 Corinthians 13:1 and 4-7 :
If I speak in the tongues[a] of men or of angels, but do not have love, I am only a resounding gong or a clanging cymbal.
Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud.
It does not dishonor others, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs.
Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth.
It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres.
May God’s blessings be upon this family that begins today.

Just a year ago we met Samara. Samara changed the world, our world. We were living in a small quiet village in the Drôme and one day Lucas introduces us to Samara, they come for a week stay with us.
The day after Sam’s arrival, our small village suffered its first earthquake. Four days after, a snowstorm with blocked roads and uprooted trees isolating us from the world, in the middle of November.
The stay ended in a 19th century style, without water or electricity, candlelight evening, vigil by the fire. However, it gave Lucas the opportunity to show his strength as a Lumberjack and his ability to protect his beauty in extreme conditions and for us the opportunity for Franco-Brazilian cultural exchanges, caipirinha against “Paté de Mamie”.
And then, after a respite, Christmas time and a trip to Rio de Janeiro to introduce Lucas to Samara’s family. The coronavirus falls on us, Sam and Lucas confine themselves together, and Sam changes the world of Lucas. What could be better than a good confinement to experience life as a couple?
Lucas quits smoking, changes jobs, they change apartments, they decide to get married.
And here we all are, to celebrate an extraordinary wedding, a 2.0 wedding.
Lucas, you remember when you were younger, when you were a little hesitant about your future choices, when you were a teenager who was a bit of a pain in the ass. You have often heard me tell you that the world should be your playground and that you have to make your own way through it.
Well, wow! This wedding, what a demonstration!
It is certainly not the one you would have imagined but despite the difficulties to organize it, the uncertainties of this world (I don’t know yet who will be the next president of the USA, I have the impression that Santa Claus will use Zoom this year), despite all this the world is at your feet, several continents (Brazil, France, Canada, Australia …) celebrate your wedding and you continue to move forward.
Yes Samara has changed Lucas’ world, ours too and both of them today they are changing yours too.
